Spring is off to a big bang — I’m being inundated with requests for public speaking!
During the Fifty-Five Plus Lifestyle Show held in Ottawa April 4 and 5 in collaboration with Bruyère Health, several reps from senior lifestyle communities approached me and said they would love to have me to sign books and give presentations to their residents about stroke prevention, rehabilitation and the power of neuroplasticity — the brain’s never-ending power to find different pathways to re-learn. I can’t wait to get started inspiring people to live, laugh, love and never say never!
On May 15, I’ll be a panelist at the Write Your Book Summit, a virtual event to encourage women entrepreneurs how to write the book that’s always been inside them, use it to uplevel their authority, and as a launching pad to grow their business. The group I’m with will be discussing editing and publishing, with me providing deets about how I came to choose self-publishing.
On June 8, I’ll again be a panelist at the Vancouver International Publishing Conference. This event will feature world-class publishing industry insiders, experts offering their insights on publishing trends, and case studies from published authors. I’ll be talking about all the new rooms that have opened for me since publishing Becoming Comfortably Numb, which have helped me evolve from a stroke victim into an advocate for people and their caregivers living with disabilities.

Most experts say an author should have their website ready before launching a book.
Oh well … nine months later, never say never, right? It’s been gestating!
I’m also reassured that Black Widow Media and The Self Publishing Agency will be helping me avoid getting all tangled up in another potentially sticky mess …
